Belle Isle Style
It's sooo cold in the D! Don't let the photos fool you, shooting this look was absolutely freezing out on Belle Isle. I couldn't pass up the killer views though, so I powered through, and this was the end result.
Belle Isle is one of the best destinations the city has to offer, with all sorts of interesting tourist attractions. Some obvious stops on your visit to the island include: the James Scott Memorial Fountain for a photo op, Sunset Point to watch, well...a sunset, or the Conservatory to look at the lush vegetation.
The Casino is a bit more of an unexpected spot for photos. It was one of the first structures built on Belle Isle, opening in 1887, and although the name implies gambling, the building was meant for use in the more traditional sense of the word - as a place for gatherings, meetings and events. The current structure seen in the photos opened in 1908, and remains a beautiful locale to visit to this day.
Now onto the outfit. This Vince Camuto coat is the perfect topper for a chilly winter day. Its' tailored lines flatter your figure, and it's versatile enough to pair with any number of layers. The jacket is still available through Nordstrom in a few different colors, so check it out at the end of the post, and bring it along for your own Detroit adventures!
